Hi everyone it’s Claire here coming to you on video this week, and I’ll tell you why in a minute. But what I want to share with you is that last week I was training a group of people, and I was explaining to them a concept that I talked about a lot, which is that areas that are inner strength, where we actually contribute the most and add the most value, or most of the places that feel like work to us. And when I said this in the meeting last week. One of the participants said, oh my goodness, it’s like we’re stepping over our success. And that’s what I want to talk to you about today.
So, if it ever feels like you couldn’t possibly go and boast about yourself to your boss or to the people who could get through the next opportunity, or if it feels like you don’t even know what you’re good at, or if it just feels like you’re too timid to talk about it or you don’t believe what people tell you what I’m here to say is that you must stand in your strengths and you must know how to stand in your success.
Why is that? It’s because if you don’t talk about it, nobody will. And if you don’t accept when you’re successful, then nobody’s going to. And one of the things that connect with what I said last week is that I myself am in a moment of incredible busyness with my work, which is, as I mentioned I would say to you the reason I’m here on video without sitting down, without doing hair makeup and lighting, and without writing, which takes a long time, is that I don’t have time this week I’ve got a lot going on, so a couple of things I want to share with you.
First of all, look in the places that feel easy for you, for your areas of strength, and where you add the most. That’s number one. Number two, recognize what you’re good at. And number three, learn to talk about it.
There are ways to talk about what you’re good at that are modest right so I can say I love to connect with an audience I love to connect with people. And that’s true about me I don’t feel arrogance saying it I know that it’s true. And I know that it’s part of the value I know how to deliver. There are a lot of little things that you can say about yourself and what you love to do that correspond to that and think about what it is that you’re good at and how it connects to the benefit to people.
All my best,
Claire
