Team Training and Coaching
Client: International financial services organization
ENGAGEMENT
The client’s team, dispersed across seven remote locations, was lacking influence in the broader organization. That was hurting their effectiveness, despite their very strong individual performances. The Team Clarity program delivered individual leadership development tools and team visioning modules. The team learned how they were impacting the organization and why it was important. They created a vision that aligned with their strengths, developed messaging that helped other teams see their contribution and identified key relationships that they needed to leverage.
OUTCOME
Within six months, the team was recognized and included in higher-level strategic engagements. Individuals on the team also enjoyed higher visibility that supported them in being promoted.
Client: Communications consultancy
ENGAGEMENT
A high performing team within the consultancy was suffering from burnout and growing pains. They had enjoyed double-digit growth for three years, and that growth had led to challenges that made them blame one another. The Team Clarity program focused this time on interpersonal communication and on appreciative inquiry. They were able to reposition their growth as the success that it was, rather than “never enough.”
OUTCOME
That understanding, combined with targeted relationship building tools, allowed them to build trust and create internal systems that were more effective. They reduced burnout and increased collaboration, all while continuing their impressive growth.
1:1 Coaching Engagements
Client: A recently promoted senior executive
ENGAGEMENT
Despite a fantastic reputation and support across the organization, my client was
experiencing “imposter syndrome.” Our work focused on giving her a deep understanding of her impact on her team and the organization.
OUTCOME
We created messaging that helped her talk positively about herself, without seeming
arrogant. And, we normalized her fears and gave her tools to radically shift her mindset.
Client: Highly results-oriented Digital Transformation VP overseeing fourteen team members, and experiencing high turnover and conflict with her team
ENGAGEMENT
With 360 interviews and coaching, this VP began to see how her demanding behavior was alienating and demotivating her team.
OUTCOME
With small, detailed shifts in her communication, the VP has been able to leverage her sense of humor and be more authentic with the team. She’s learned that vulnerability is not the enemy and has vastly improved her connection with the team and the team’s productivity.
Client: Global account director
ENGAGEMENT
A real “do-er,” this director was jumping in to do her team’s work and ignoring critical strategic and longterm thinking. The team was stuck in putting out fires.
Over six months, with 360 interviews and coaching, the director came to understand how the demands of her job had shifted and why it was critical to adapt.
OUTCOME
The director is now much better at delegating. As a result, her team has made significant progress and is now the most sought-after account in the organization.
Client: Junior partner in a financial services firm
ENGAGEMENT
The partner was losing credibility because he was not standing up to a bullying founding partner. During our coaching sessions, he learned the strengths of his more collaborative style and came to understand the consequences of his passiveness.
OUTCOME
The partner is now much more assertive and has the confidence to drive his more collaborative agenda, which has in turn engaged his direct reports.
