How do you get a high-powered architect, painter, beauty entrepreneur, vegan food entrepreneur, partner at an experiential design firm, two program managers for nonprofits, and a financial advisor to step into a sound bath in a Midtown spa on a random Wednesday morning?
You follow the energy.
It started when a former client who is a P.R. expert and the current VP of Marketing at Remedy Place suggested that I do an event there.
I’m doing a book launch, so I thought somehow I would get magazine editors and journalists to come to this sexy new venue.
And that’s funny because I don’t know a lot of magazine editors or journalists.
So I started with people I knew; former clients and close friends and colleagues; exactly where I tell my clients to begin their networking.
That intuition turned out to be exactly right.
We started with a sound bath, which felt like a cushion between us and New York City’s relentless energy.
In the safety of this bubble, I then led two exercises designed to help these high-achievers reduce stress by quieting self-doubt.
And in a moment that seemed almost absurd if it weren’t also so sacred, when I asked what they were noticing, the almost unified answer was, “I’m not the only one.”
No matter how accomplished, brilliant, outwardly “together” these women are, they experience self-doubt. And that can lead to sustained stress, even burnout.
But in that space—together, open to a new experience—we remembered that confidence is so much more about connection than achievement.
The ability to build and trust your instinct, along with the ability to connect is what the framework in Confidence at Work is designed to do.
Like with this moment on a random Wednesday in a room in a spa in NYC, where I let the parts and pieces of me come together, there’s a magical wave of momentum that happens when you can step beyond the “Confidence Façade” and trust your authentic self.
Work is aligned, and life is balanced.
If you’ve ever had a moment where you felt you were the only one questioning yourself, let me tell you—you’re not.
And if you’re ready to build confidence that lasts, check out Confidence at Work (or DM me). Stepping into your confidence starts with trusting your intuition.
