Why Should Being Happy at Work Matter?

It’s Saturday and I know it’s a time for rest, not work. I also know that when we rest, we have a little more time for reflection that can bring clarity. Yesterday I spoke to a former client who shared that our work together didn’t just help her as an executive, it helped her marriage. That made my day, and my week. The reason it matters to be happier and more effective at work is that we matter. It may sound corny or melodramatic but it’s true – feeling motivated and comfortable at work and feeling “at choice” (not put upon) cascades into personal life. I see it all the time.

Taking the first step can feel daunting. Staying on track can feel like being in a fog. Which is why having a plan is so important. Next week I share a plan that helps close the gap between what you are wanting and what you (we) can sometimes feel ready to handle.
